When it helps
Official forms, retirement planning, and school registration ask for an exact age, and the Hijri age is the one quoted in Saudi documents. Counting years by hand misses leap years and short months. This tool counts on the real calendars, on both at once, and the Hijri side runs on the official Umm al-Qura table from 1318 to 1500 AH.
Common questions
How is the Hijri age calculated?
On the Umm al-Qura calendar, the official civil calendar of Saudi Arabia, using the same table official systems use. The supported range is 1318 to 1500 AH.
What if I was born on 29 February?
In a common year your birthday falls on 28 February, the day your year of age completes, and in a leap year it keeps 29 February. The countdown to your next birthday follows the same rule, so the age and the countdown always agree.
Does the tool account for leap years?
Yes. The Gregorian side uses the real calendar with its leap years, and the Hijri side uses the exact month lengths of the Umm al-Qura table. Nothing is approximated.
Is my date of birth sent anywhere?
