When it helps
Official documents, contracts, and invitations in Saudi Arabia carry both calendars, and the Umm al-Qura calendar is the official reference. Converting by hand invites a one-day mistake, and printed tables cover only a few years. This tool converts on the Umm al-Qura table itself, from 1318 to 1500 AH.
Common questions
Which Hijri calendar does this tool use?
The Umm al-Qura calendar, the official civil calendar of Saudi Arabia. The conversion runs on the same Umm al-Qura table that official systems use, in both directions, and the supported range is 1318 to 1500 AH.
Why does my date convert differently in another app?
Different Hijri tables exist, and some apps use an astronomical approximation that disagrees with the official table on more than half of all days. This tool follows the official Umm al-Qura table only.
Why does the tool reject day 30 of some months?
A Hijri month is 29 or 30 days, and the Umm al-Qura table fixes the length of every month. When a month has 29 days, its 30th day does not exist, and the tool says so instead of guessing.
Are my dates sent anywhere?
No. The conversion happens entirely in your browser. Your dates are never uploaded, stored, or shared.
