IBAN validator
Check an IBAN's length and check digits, on your device.
Runs on your device. What you enter is never sent to us
You see the number formatted with its country code, and for a Saudi IBAN the bank code and account number as well. A failure names the rule it broke: the length, or the check digits.
How to use it
- 1Enter your detailsType the values into the fields; we ask for nothing else about you and keep nothing.
- 2Check what you enteredThe result changes with every edit, so confirm the values before you read it.
- 3Read the resultIt appears directly under the fields, ready to copy.
When it helps
One extra character, one missing digit, or two swapped positions is enough to send a transfer to the wrong account or get it rejected. The IBAN carries two check digits that catch exactly these mistakes, and this tool runs the same check instantly and explains the reason instead of a generic error.
Common questions
Does a valid result mean the account exists?
No. A valid result means the number meets the standard arithmetically: the structure, the length, and the two check digits. That rules out typos but does not prove the account exists, is open, or belongs to anyone. Only the bank itself can confirm that.
How does the check work?
The number is rearranged, letters are converted to digits, and the remainder of division by 97 is computed per the IBAN standard. The number is well-formed when the remainder is exactly 1, and all of it runs on your device with no connection.
What is a Saudi IBAN made of?
Twenty-four characters: the country code SA, two check digits, a two-character bank code, and an 18-character account number. For a valid Saudi IBAN the tool shows the bank code and the account number.
Why is there no bank name?
The tool does not ship an unverified table mapping bank codes to names, and printing an uncertain name would be worse than none. The two figures shown are the bank code and the account number exactly as they appear in the IBAN.
